Land and Development department remains busy despite difficult market - Tue 14 Apr

Although building start ups are at an all-time low and development land values have plummeted, astute owners are using this breathing space to continue developing sites so that they are "oven-ready" when the market recovers.Government still claims that it wants to provide three million new homes by 2020, and there is a real possibility that there will be an acute
shortage of short-term building land as soon as the market recovers. We are actively involved in over a dozen sites, pushing them through the planning and development process, in both
commercial and residential sectors.

Four small development opportunities which we marketed last autumn all found homes and are at the pre-contract stage. Another half dozen or so should be available this spring.
