A Little Piece of History..... - Mon 06 Jul

Leeds Civic Trust and Leeds City Library have been extremely grateful to receive a donation of a collection of 1950 paper Ordnance Survey plans covering the majority of the Leeds district.  These plans were held in the Adair Paxton archives and used by our surveyors and property managers over decades, but have now been replaced by digital mapping software.  Dr Kevin Grady of Leeds Civic Trust said "These plans will prove invaluable to the city as an accurate record of how things were in 1950.  They plug a gap in the library archives which already contain earlier and slightly later records, and are therefore extremely useful in tracking change through time."
